In recent years, natural disasters such as landslides and ground subsidence have become more severe worldwide due to climate change. At the same time, aging infrastructure caused by urbanization and underground development has become a serious social issue. Many such disasters are known to show millimeter-scale ground surface displacement before occurring. However, conventional satellite observation data has limitations in frequency and accuracy, ground sensors cover limited areas, and inspection records are difficult to obtain frequently. Against this backdrop, OKI and LTS will develop an integrated infrastructure monitoring system capable of continuous, high-precision monitoring by combining multiple types of data. OKI will use its ground IoT sensor technologies, including its easy-to-install and highly reliable Zero Energy IoT Series, which has operational experience at around 1,000 sites in Japan and demonstration experience in Turkey and Indonesia, to acquire high-precision ground observation data. LTS will develop AI technologies that integrate wide-area satellite data such as ground deformation, localized data from ground IoT sensors such as tilt, and existing inspection and survey data held by operators. Customers will be able to build monitoring systems that do not rely solely on field patrols and visual inspections, detect abnormal signs earlier, and prioritize maintenance responses. The use of easy-to-install sensors is also expected to reduce on-site construction workload during implementation. OKI will oversee the overall project and lead collaboration with overseas partners, promoting global social implementation and expansion into overseas markets including Turkey and Southeast Asia. The company will continue leveraging its technological capabilities in social infrastructure to create value globally and address social challenges.
