■ Comment from Fukuoka University
At our university, the Student Association General Affairs Committee conducted a survey on sanitary products targeting female students. The results showed many voices regarding the impact of sudden menstruation on daily life, hindrance to studies, and economic and psychological burdens. Previously, the university's Student Affairs Division and Health Center distributed sanitary products to those who requested them, but few students utilized this service. In response to these results, the Student Association General Affairs Committee reported the survey findings to the university and requested the installation of "OiTr" in campus restrooms. As a result, in response to student voices, "OiTr" will now be installed in 10 restrooms across the campus.
As a comprehensive university with 9 faculties, 31 departments, and a graduate school, our university has installed OiTr units in private restrooms throughout the campus so that students from all faculties can use them.
Our university will continue to support students and strive to realize a student life free from inconvenience.

In addition to receiving napkins, the app also offers "menstrual period prediction" and "health management" functions, with users commenting on its convenience for "receiving napkins while recording" and "accurate predictions." Furthermore, through the media platform "Itsudemo OiTr" (Always OiTr), which alleviates women's anxieties, information on women's mental and physical concerns, menstruation, and health is disseminated, supporting a society where women can make positive choices with peace of mind.

■ The Background of OiTr's Creation
OiTr Inc. started with the mission of "solving social issues through business." Among these, we focused on the issue of "period poverty" stemming from gender inequality.
In Japan, there are women who lack access to sanitary products and hygienic environments due to economic and social reasons, leading to invisible social losses such as loss of educational opportunities, difficulty in employment, and psychological burdens.
"Toilet paper is in the restroom, so why aren't sanitary products always available?" — Prompted by this simple question, our company began efforts to change societal awareness and environment, starting from the most familiar space in daily life: the restroom.
■ Initiatives for "Period Poverty"
In Japan, "period poverty" tends to be viewed as an economic problem, but globally, it refers to a state where people lack access to the minimum necessities for menstruation, including sanitary products, clean water, hygienic environments, and education on biology and reproduction. Lack of access to sanitary products is not merely a material issue; it profoundly affects dignity, health, education, labor, and overall life. While measures such as free provision, reduced tax rates, and tax abolition are progressing worldwide, in Japan, support remains limited to local government units.
Our company hopes to create an environment where sanitary products are "naturally available" in daily life, providing an opportunity to re-examine what has been considered "normal." We hope that this initiative will be the first step towards a society where everyone can live with peace of mind, and that greater empathy and action will spread.
