Rapidly Growing Octopus Energy Appoints Hidehiro Nakagami as New Representative Director and President

TG Octopus Energy Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo; hereinafter "Octopus Energy") is pleased to announce that Hidehiro Nakagami has been appointed as Representative Director and President, effective April 1, 2026.

Octopus Energy began operations in 2021 as a joint venture between the UK-based energy tech company Octopus Energy and Tokyo Gas Co., Ltd. The company has achieved significant growth in the Japanese market by promoting the adoption of renewable energy, providing electricity at fair prices, and delivering high-quality customer service, surpassing 560,000 contracts. Under this new management structure, the company will build upon these values to further evolve its technology-driven power services and accelerate efforts toward realizing a sustainable energy society.

Biography Hidehiro Nakagami

Born in Tokyo. Graduated from the Faculty of Law, Keio University. Obtained an MBA from the University of Southern California.

Joined Tokyo Gas Co., Ltd. in 1997. Held various positions including LNG procurement, overseas business, and corporate planning. Gained extensive experience in the international energy sector, including managing overseas offices such as Deputy General Manager of the New York Office and General Manager of the Manila Office.

Engaged in the renewable energy business since 2022.

Appointed Representative Director and President of TG Octopus Energy Co., Ltd. in April 2026.
