Fast-Growing Octopus Energy Appoints Hidehiro Nakagami as New President

TG Octopus Energy Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo; hereinafter 'Octopus Energy') is pleased to announce that Hidehiro Nakagami has been appointed as Representative Director and President, effective April 1, 2026.

Octopus Energy began its services in 2021 as a joint venture between the UK-based energy tech company Octopus Energy and Tokyo Gas Co., Ltd. The company has achieved significant growth in the Japanese market, promoting the adoption of renewable energy, providing electricity at fair prices, and delivering high customer satisfaction, with the number of contracts exceeding 560,000. Under the new management structure, the company will further accelerate its efforts toward realizing a sustainable energy society by evolving its tech-driven electricity services based on these values.

Biography:
Hidehiro Nakagami
Born in Tokyo. Graduated from the Faculty of Law, Keio University. Obtained an MBA from the University of Southern California.
Joined Tokyo Gas Co., Ltd. in 1997. Held various positions including LNG procurement, overseas business, and corporate planning. Managed overseas bases such as Deputy General Manager of the New York Office and General Manager of the Manila Office, engaging extensively in international energy business.
Engaged in renewable energy business since 2022.
Appointed Representative Director and President of TG Octopus Energy Co., Ltd. in April 2026.
