In environmental fields, including carbon neutrality, NSK is committed to creating environmentally friendly products through its tribology and manufacturing technologies. Furthermore, NSK is promoting initiatives across the entire supply chain, from material procurement to production, logistics, customer use of NSK products, and disposal. These initiatives include energy conservation and technological innovation to reduce GHG emissions such as CO2 in manufacturing processes, and the utilization of renewable energy.

NSK is focusing on reducing emissions originating from raw materials and procured parts, such as steel materials, which account for a significant portion of GHG emissions. In addition to thorough energy reduction through energy conservation, NSK is strengthening collaboration with suppliers by sharing environmental policies and measures, and promoting the calculation of emissions and data collection. These efforts have been intensified since fiscal year 2022, and the number of collaborating suppliers, including those with no capital ties, has expanded to 58 companies, covering approximately 80% of procured components based on procurement value. We believe that these initiatives, coupled with our proactive disclosure of information, have led to this highest rating.
