GTF Green Challenge Day 2026 in Shinjuku Gyoen Banner

The GTF Greater Tokyo Festival Executive Committee (Executive Committee Chair: Wataru Goto) will host the 16th 'GTF Green Challenge Day 2026 in Shinjuku Gyoen' on Saturday, November 7 and Sunday, November 8, 2026, at Shinjuku Gyoen.

This event is a citizen-participation initiative that supports environmentally friendly actions—'Green Challenges'—by companies, local governments, organizations, and individuals.

We are currently seeking official partners (sponsors and supporting organizations) and booth exhibitors who support the event's mission.

Free online information sessions will be held on Wednesday, July 8 and Friday, July 10, 2026, for those considering sponsorship or exhibition.

Turning Environmental Action into Everyday Choices

GTF Green Challenge Day is not just for organizations specializing in environmental issues.

Delivering agricultural products and food grown in harmony with local nature. Reducing food waste and resource inefficiency. Offering long-lasting goods and services. Preserving and passing on regional culture and tourism resources. Sharing the charm and recovery progress of disaster-affected areas.

These daily efforts and innovations are also vital Green Challenges for the future.

Businesses, local governments, and organizations of all sizes—including SMEs, individual entrepreneurs, farmers, producers, restaurants, local groups, schools, student organizations, and businesses from disaster-affected regions—are welcome to participate.

Use this platform to share your environmental initiatives and regional attractions with visitors, including families, through visual, tactile, and experiential engagement.

From Shinjuku Gyoen, a National Park in Central Tokyo, We Send a Message About the Future of Environment and Communities

Launched in 2010, GTF Green Challenge Day celebrated its 15th anniversary in 2025. Last year, companies, local governments, organizations, and citizens shared their initiatives, attracting 34,483 visitors over two days.

Shinjuku Gyoen, the event venue, is a national park with vast, rich natural surroundings, located in central Tokyo. During the event period, the traditional Chrysanthemum Display, associated with the Imperial Family, will also be held, attracting diverse visitors.

This year, under the theme 'Connecting and Supporting Forests, Villages, Rivers, and Oceans,' we will present programs that explore the connection between our daily lives and nature, including biodiversity conservation, decarbonization, resource circulation, watershed collaboration, and regional disaster resilience.

Through stages, workshops, markets, eco-dining, and character stamp rallies, visitors of all ages can enjoy and reflect on eco-friendly lifestyles over two engaging days.

Call for Sponsors and Supporting Organizations

We are inviting sponsors and supporting organizations to co-create the event as Official Partners.

Sponsorship opportunities include financial support, in-kind contributions (such as tents, equipment, kitchen cars, and renewable energy devices), and promotional support through transportation advertising, mass media, websites, and social media.

Depending on the sponsorship package, benefits may include on-site booth space, feature stories in official media, on-site messaging, and networking with visitors and stakeholders.

This is not only an opportunity to communicate environmental efforts clearly to consumers but also to enhance organizational value and awareness, build connections with engaged communities, and support employee learning and team building.

Call for Booth Exhibitors

Exhibitors can participate in diverse formats, including workshops, exhibitions, experiential programs, product/service PR, sampling, surveys, sales, markets, and regional product introductions.

For local governments, tourism associations, and regional groups, this is an opportunity to promote the natural beauty, food, culture, tourism, relocation, and exchange opportunities of their regions.

For companies and organizations, it’s a platform to communicate environmental technologies, products, services, education/training, and CSR/CSV activities through direct dialogue with visitors.

For farmers, producers, and individual entrepreneurs, it’s a chance to directly share locally grown ingredients, eco-conscious craftsmanship, and their passion for food and agriculture.

Additionally, we offer a 'Disaster-Affected Area Support Program' targeting disaster-affected regions such as Tohoku, Noto/Hokuriku, and Hachijojima, as well as individual farmers.

Participate to share the natural beauty, food, culture, tourism, and recovery efforts of disaster-affected areas with the Greater Tokyo area, creating new connections where cities and regions support each other. For details on eligibility and conditions, please contact the secretariat.
