NPO Machi Hito Kurashi Shidahai Wan Nyan no Kai (Location: Yaizu City, Shizuoka Prefecture, Representative: Tsutomu Yazawa), which conducts animal protection activities in the Shida-Haibara region of central Shizuoka Prefecture, announces that, with the cooperation of Kobayashi Co., Ltd. (Fujieda City, Shizuoka Prefecture, Representative: Takayoshi Jinma), they will hold protected cat adoption events once a month, starting Sunday, May 17th, inside the pet cremation facility "Kanade."

Jinma-san, whose father started a business in Mori Town, Shuchi District, and who now, as the second generation, manages three stores in the western part of the prefecture and a ceremony hall in Fujieda. Following Fukuroi, he opened a "pet cremation" facility in Fujieda last December.

"You don't make much money doing pet cremation, do you?" I asked a frankly rude question.

That's right. I was opposed by those around me.

While attending human funerals, I've felt that various families have various views on life and death.

The number of "direct funerals" without wakes or funerals is increasing, and sometimes I wonder if the love of Japanese people is really okay.

But pets are our "children," aren't they? Precisely because children depart first, I know that many people experience more pain than when they lose a parent or spouse, so I thought I could do what I can for this community.

Many people cremate on weekends, and they want to call their grandchildren who go to school or family who live far away now, and see them off together. I truly feel how important their existence is.

As the "son of a funeral director," I was sometimes looked at strangely as a child. But our staff is working with all our might to fulfill each customer's wishes and help them look forward, even a little. That's the same for humans and pets.

It's fate that we met Wan Nyan no Kai, so I'd be happy if we could cooperate together from now on to convey "the importance of life."

"Pet loss" when beloved "dogs" and "cats" pass away. No, not just dogs and cats, the sadness when a cherished child departs is unbearable.

As nuclear families increase, "death" seems to have become less familiar, especially to children.

Pets, whose lifespans are shorter than humans, will die before us, no matter how much medical science develops.

That's why we can feel that we should cherish "each day" and live life to the fullest.

Myself, my pets, my family, my friends.

I want everyone to cherish "this very moment" of being alive and live without regrets.
