New 'Comic Viewer' Feature for Posting and Selling Manga Launches for All note Creators

Starting April 14, a dedicated comic viewer for delivering drawn works to new readers will be available to all creators on note. By simply uploading a manga manuscript, you can publish and sell your work in a format that can be read smoothly with page-turning.

The Comic Viewer is a feature for manga creators to easily deliver their works to readers in an easy-to-read format. Approximately 550 creators participated in an early access program conducted prior to this release, and we have made improvements based on the feedback received, leading to today's launch. Additionally, works for the Manga and Comic Essay categories of Japan's largest creative contest, the 'Creation Grand Prix 2026,' for which applications have been accepted since April 8, can also be submitted in the Comic Viewer format.

We will create an environment where it is easy to deliver all kinds of creations, including manga, and connect this to the realization of our mission to 'enable everyone to start and continue creating.'

**Background of the Comic Viewer's Launch**

The e-comic market has reached 527.3 billion yen, growing to account for 76% of the entire comic market (*1). The number of manga artists who publish their works on the web without going through a publisher is also increasing. They want to openly publish their works, be discovered by new readers, and monetize all in one place. We developed the Comic Viewer in response to these creator voices.

Until now, manga on note was mainly posted in image format. With the Comic Viewer, manuscripts can be uploaded and published in a page-turning format.

note has already expanded opportunities for manga creators through Japan's largest creative contest, the 'Creation Grand Prix,' and submission projects in collaboration with popular manga editorial departments like '#LookAtMyManga.' Dozens of manga works originally posted on note have been published as books. Applications for the Manga and Comic Essay categories of the 'Creation Grand Prix 2026' began on April 8, and we are releasing this feature to broaden the options for manga creators to deliver their works.

**Three Key Features of the Comic Viewer**

**(1) Post by simply uploading your existing manuscript**

Simply drag and drop your manga image files onto the article editing screen to complete a page-turning manga article. No special tools or conversion work is required. It supports up to 200 pages, and you can easily reorder, delete, and insert pages. Early users have commented, 'It loaded quickly and I could post smoothly,' and 'I was impressed by how smooth it was from upload to publication.'

**(2) Your work remains on note and continues to reach new readers**

Posted works are made public and can reach readers who don't yet know about them through search and social media. The display is automatically optimized for the viewing environment—double-page spread on PC and single-page on smartphones—so your work is delivered in an easy-to-read format on any device.

**(3) Use note's existing systems for paid sales and subscriptions**

note's paid sales mechanisms, such as paid articles, subscription magazines, and memberships, can be used as they are. Publish your work, interact with readers, and monetize. From posting to monetization, everything is completed within note.

Use it as a 'home base' for your serialized manga or as a 'collection' to gather your scattered short stories. The Comic Viewer can be used according to each creator's creative style.

**Early User Feedback and Improvements**

Prior to the official release of the Comic Viewer, we recruited early users starting March 18, 2026. Over 550 creators applied during the approximate 10-day recruitment period, and we received over 200 opinions and requests.

Based on the feedback received, we implemented the following improvements during the early access period:

- Adjusted display size and position. - Enabled page swapping and title editing from the editing screen even after embedding the Comic Viewer in an article. - Added a feature to select the viewer on the editing screen and check the preview. - Set Comic Viewer images to not be used for AI learning. - Screenshot prevention feature in the app (to be added soon).

We are also advancing measures related to the protection of works so that creators can publish with peace of mind. The Comic Viewer is a feature we will continue to develop together with creators. We will continue to make improvements based on your feedback even after the release.

We will hold a submission event to help more people read manga works posted with the Comic Viewer.
