Norwegian Cruise Line Holds Naming Ceremony for its Latest Ship, Norwegian Luna™

• Offering round-trip Caribbean cruises through April 2027, with calls at Great Stirrup Cay, Bahamas, and Harvest Caye, Belize.

MIAMI – Norwegian Cruise Line®, a global innovator in cruise travel (headquartered in Miami, USA, President: Harry Sommer, hereinafter referred to as NCL), held a naming ceremony for its latest ship, Norwegian Luna™, in Miami, USA. As NCL's newest vessel, it offers a wide range of onboard experiences for all types of travelers and is the latest ship to sail the Caribbean. The ship will also feature itineraries that call at NCL's resort-style destinations, Great Stirrup Cay in the Bahamas, and Harvest Caye in Belize.

The naming ceremony, attended by over 2,000 guests, was held at NCL's LEED® Gold certified terminal at the Port of Miami. In accordance with maritime tradition to pray for the safe voyage of the ship, the ceremony celebrated and wished for safe travels as Norwegian Luna's Godmother, globally renowned street artist ELLE, christened the ship by breaking a bottle against its hull.

ELLE also created the signature artwork "La Luna" adorning the ship's hull. Created prior to Norwegian Luna's maiden voyage, this artwork expresses the relationship between humanity, the universe, and the moon, symbolizing its cyclical connection through gravitational pull.

Diverse Staterooms and Dining Options

Norwegian Luna offers a variety of stateroom types, including solo staterooms, interior staterooms, oceanview, balcony staterooms, and suites in "The Haven by Norwegian®." Additionally, it features exclusive restaurants, bars, and lounges. The ship boasts 17 dining venues from bow to stern, offering over 15 international cuisines, including Italian "Onda by Scarpetta," authentic Thai "Sukhothai," and French "Le Bistro." Furthermore, there are 18 bars and lounges, including a whiskey bar, Belvedere Bar, and the cocktail bar "Metropolitan Bar."

Entertainment

In the evenings, guests can enjoy shows such as "Elton: The Elton John Musical™" and "HILO: Innovation Meets Wonder™." The popular "Syd Norman's Pour House" will feature the new production "Tribute to the Eagles." Additionally, the adult-only (21+) late-night entertainment "Lunatic™" offers an experience inspired by Las Vegas nightlife, blending visuals, cocktails, and performances. For children, a sea-themed festival titled "Sea of Discovery!" will be presented.

Onboard Activities

Norwegian Luna measures 322 meters in length and accommodates 3,565 passengers, characterized by its spacious design and diverse experiences. The ship is equipped with a wide range of facilities for all generations to enjoy, including the "Aqua Slidecoaster," the longest and fastest waterslide at sea, the digital sports facility "Glow Court," and the "Luna Game Zone." Furthermore, new family-friendly facilities include the carnival-themed amusement area "Luna Midway," the multi-level ropes course "Moon Climber" for children and adults, and the outdoor recreational area "Horizon Park."

Latest Itineraries

From April 2026 to April 2027, Norwegian Luna will offer diverse itineraries exploring the Eastern and Western Caribbean, calling at NCL's resort-style destinations such as Great Stirrup Cay in the Bahamas and Harvest Caye in Belize. Great Stirrup Cay has recently expanded its facilities, introducing the new "Great Life Lagoon," a large pool area with two swim-up bars, cabanas, and lounge chairs, adjacent to the family splash area "Splash Harbor." Additionally, the adults-only "Vibe Beach Club" offers a more exclusive and relaxed experience with a private bar, premium lounge seating, cabanas, and private beach access. Furthermore, in Summer 2026, the approximately 24,000 sqm water park "Great Stirrup Cay Water Park" is set to open, featuring 19 water slides, the industry's first cliff jumping experience, an approximately 840 sqm kids' splash zone "Splash Cay," and the "Wondering River," a 250-meter water attraction with faster currents than a typical lazy river, offering a variety of experiences.

After its season in Miami, Norwegian Luna will operate 4-day and 7-day round-trip cruises to Bermuda from New York from April to October 2027. These flexible itineraries, offering extended time in port and some overnight stays, allow guests to fully enjoy a variety of sea and land activities, including beautiful pink sand beaches, catamaran cruises, ATV adventures, cave diving, and scenic cycling tours.
