KIMONO DANCE JAPAN Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Setagaya-ku, Tokyo; Representative Directors: Ayano Shinkawa, Taeko Koizumi), organizer of the "KIMONO×DANCE PROJECT," will stage its "Kimono x Dance Entertainment Show," which has captivated audiences worldwide in Paris, Barcelona, and other locations, at the Asakusa Public Hall on Saturday, September 12, and Sunday, September 13, 2026. We also announce the launch of a crowdfunding campaign starting Tuesday, May 5, to co-create the performance.

Realizing a "Comprehensive Art Performance to Make You Love Japan More" in Asakusa

Since its establishment in 2021, the "KIMONO×DANCE PROJECT (KDP)" has been delivering unique Japanese cultural performances, embodying "tradition and innovation." Dancers wear costumes upcycled from vintage kimonos and perform modern dances such as street dance and jazz.

From 2024, the project expanded its activities overseas, performing at JAPAN EXPO Paris, MANGA BARCELONA, and other venues. KDP's shows, packed with Japan's diverse charms, have garnered high acclaim internationally.

By staging this "Comprehensive Art Performance" in Asakusa, combining Japanese culture with various forms of entertainment like dance, fashion shows, popular theater, and traditional Japanese instrument performances, we aim to create an opportunity for people to rediscover the charms of Japan and contribute to the succession of traditional culture.

Your support will be used for expenses related to the venue, stage sets, lighting, and other production costs. By participating in this crowdfunding for the performance, you can enjoy the event while also contributing to social issues such as promoting and preserving Japanese culture.

In our previous crowdfunding campaign, we successfully reached 1 million yen. This enabled us to make the JAPAN EXPO Paris 2024 performance a great success.

Successfully staging the performance at Asakusa Public Hall in September is our way of giving back to all the people, things, and environments that have supported us, and it will be the first step towards KDP's further leap forward.

To date, we have invested approximately 5 million yen for venue fees and other costs to safely hold the stage.

To further refine art, lighting, costumes, and music, and to provide maximum enjoyment to our audience with attractive staging, we wish to co-create this stage with our supporters through this crowdfunding campaign.
