Nishitetsu 'muside' and JASRAC 'KENDRIX' to Launch Collaboration from April 2026!

Nishi-Nippon Railroad Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Chuo-ku, Fukuoka City, Fukuoka Prefecture; Representative Director and President: Koichi Hayashida; hereinafter, Nishitetsu) and the Japanese Society for Rights of Authors, Composers and Publishers (Headquarters: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo; Chairman: Kazumasa Izawa; hereinafter, JASRAC) will launch a new initiative to support artists' and creators' creative activities, such as song data collection and live performance implementation, through the service collaboration of both companies.

Nishitetsu and JASRAC each operate services to support the activities of artists and creators: "muside" and "KENDRIX," respectively. muside, operated by Nishitetsu, is a platform that supports the music activities of amateur musicians, while KENDRIX, operated by JASRAC, is a DX platform for music creators that supports the proper management of copyright and other song information.

Both companies believe that all music has value and will promote cooperation as an initiative to provide a mechanism for talented artists and creators who produce music to obtain appropriate revenue opportunities.

Through this collaboration, all people who provide music will be able to receive more appropriate distribution and engage in music activities stably. Both companies will contribute to creating a mechanism for returning value to promising artists and creators, and furthermore, to the further revitalization of the music scene, especially live music venues.

## About the muside × KENDRIX Collaboration Service

All songs are equally granted copyright, and distribution is given to the author based on factors such as playback count. This collaboration will contribute to creating a mechanism that correctly collects performance data related to songs and leads to appropriate distribution and evaluation by JASRAC.

- 《① Setlist Function Integration》
The list of songs registered in the "Setlist Function*" equipped in muside will be shared with JASRAC. This aims to collect song data performed at live events and integrate it into a centralized management platform.
*A function that allows recording co-performers and setlists from past live events.

- 《② Registration of JASRAC Code and ISRC for Songs》
JASRAC Code*1 and ISRC*2 can be registered for songs registered in muside. Registering these codes is expected to lead to appropriate remuneration for the rights holders of the songs.
*1 A number for identifying works and rights information managed by JASRAC.
*2 An international code assigned to recorded sound sources.

- 《③ Holding muside × KENDRIX Collaboration Event》
A live event aimed at increasing awareness of muside and KENDRIX will be held in Fukuoka City around autumn this year. Additionally, an audition for the right to perform at this live event will be held using muside's audition function*.
*A function that allows easy entry into auditions for event appearances or song broadcasts. User voting is also possible.

A music activity support platform proposed within Nishi-Nippon Railroad Co., Ltd.'s intrapreneurship development and new business creation program, launched in February 2024. With the concept of "Your Manager for Enjoying Music," it aims to resolve the lack of information and inconvenience felt during music activities, to further energize the amateur music scene, and to make music more accessible. It offers many functions including searching for live houses and studios, recording live performances and appearances, live announcements and ticket management, viewing past live setlists, and recruiting members. It also contributes to creating performance opportunities for artists by collaborating with various local live events to hold auditions.

A song information management system operated by JASRAC. It allows registration of hash values of sound sources, lyric files, etc., on a blockchain (Soneium), making it easier to assert and prove facts regarding the date and time of one's creative work. It also features an identity verification mark for artists, even if they operate anonymously, an eKYC function to enable online-only copyright management agreements (trust agreements) with JASRAC, and a sound similarity check function using song recognition technology to check for similar songs.
