Nikon-Essilor Launches New Myopia Management Lens 'Essilor® Stellest®' on June 11

Nikon-Essilor is set to release its myopia management lens for children, 'Essilor® Stellest®', on June 11, 2026.

June marks the month of 'Children's Eye Day' (June 10th) in Japan, a time when awareness regarding children's vision is heightened due to school eye examinations. Through the launch of this product, Nikon-Essilor aims to provide an opportunity for families to reflect on the visual environment surrounding children.

## A New Concept in Lens Design Focused on Modern Visual Environments

The visual environment for children has undergone significant changes due to the widespread adoption of smartphones and tablets, alongside shifts in outdoor activity patterns. Developed in this context, 'Essilor® Stellest®' is an spectacle lens that utilizes Essilor's proprietary H.A.L.T. (Highly Aspherical Lenslet Target) technology, built upon years of optical design expertise.

The lens surface features 1,021 micro-aspherical lenslets arranged in 11 concentric rings. A central zone ensures sharp vision comparable to single-vision lenses, while the surrounding zone with highly aspherical lenslets is designed for comfort in various daily scenarios, including school activities and outdoor play.

Each micro-aspherical lenslet, which accounts for approximately 40% of the lens surface area, has a diameter of about 1.1mm.
