We will provide easy-to-understand and thorough lectures, including basic knowledge about taste that heightens interest in "food" on a daily basis, and table manners essential for formal occasions, which are important to know to further enjoy meals. The lectures will be given by service staff certified as table manners masters and culinary professionals, incorporating experiments and quizzes. This time, we will offer Chinese cuisine table manners and a half-course Chinese lunch. Please enjoy this as an opportunity for summer vacation free study or learning at home.

Part 1■ Taste Lecture

We will conduct a sensory experience using Chinese tea such as jasmine tea, focusing on the five basic tastes: <sweetness, sourness, saltiness, bitterness, umami>. This will be done using a worksheet supervised by the Executive Chef. (You can take the worksheet home afterward.)

Part 2■ Table Manners Lesson & Half-Course Lunch

In addition to basic table manners, a certified table manners master will lecture on Chinese cuisine-specific manners, including the history and food culture of Chinese cuisine and how to serve dishes, incorporating quizzes. After the lecture, you will enjoy a Chinese lunch course, utilizing what you learned in Part 1, with a demonstration of smoked duck in Chinese crepes.

Part 3■ Questions & Photo Time

While reflecting on the event, culinary and service professionals will answer any questions you may have for the staff. Upon completion, a certificate of table manners experience will be awarded. The day will conclude with commemorative photos with your family and the staff.

What is a Certified Table Manners Master?

A certified instructor who has acquired knowledge and teaching skills related to table manners and is certified by the Japan Hotel and Restaurant Service Skills Association (HRS). On this day, Mr. Shun Tashiro from the Food and Beverage Department, who also holds qualifications such as "Certified Master of Chinese Cuisine Etiquette" and "Certified Instructor of Western Cuisine Table Manners," will serve as the instructor, delivering the content in a polite and enjoyable manner, utilizing his everyday service experience.
