Nihongo Academy Inc. supports 'April Dream,' an initiative aiming to make April 1st a day to broadcast dreams. This press release outlines the dream of the 'company/organization'.
In Japan, where labor shortages are becoming increasingly severe, the acceptance of foreign workers continues to expand.
However, what is needed now is not 'numbers' but 'high-quality talent' who can perform well on the front lines.
Based on its track record of having trained 400 foreign workers prior to their arrival in Japan, Nihongo Academy Inc. aims to realize a society that maximizes the value of foreign talent through a new approach: pre-arrival education.
■ April Dream
Our dream at Nihongo Academy is to create a society where foreign workers are active not as 'cheap labor' but as an 'elected, capable workforce.'
Until now, Japan has focused on increasing the 'number' of foreign workers accepted.
However, workplaces are piling up with challenges such as:
- Inability to communicate in Japanese
- High education costs
- Low retention rates
As a result, a mismatch occurs where foreign workers cannot demonstrate their true abilities, and companies are unable to fully utilize them.
We will change this situation.
From now on, it will be the norm that 'education is completed before arriving in Japan.'
We will build a social infrastructure where foreign workers arrive equipped not only with Japanese language skills but also with an understanding of the work, culture, and communication skills, enabling them to be effective from their first day.
■ Our Track Record
To date, Nihongo Academy has provided Japanese language education to approximately 400 foreign workers before they arrived in Japan.
Furthermore, for the fiscal year 2025, we were selected for the Kanagawa Acceleration Program (KSAP), a startup support program implemented by Kanagawa Prefecture, and have been refining our business model and advancing its social implementation.
We announced the results of our half-year demonstration experiment at the Kanagawa Innovators Day Meetup Fes on March 18th.
■ Nihongo Academy's Initiatives
We offer an online pre-arrival Japanese language training program targeting foreign talent scheduled to come to Japan on Specified Skilled Worker visas.
