[NHK Culture] First time in Kanto! Blend your own original Shichimi with the long-established Nagano manufacturer 'Yawataya Isogoro'!

We are hosting an original Shichimi blending experience at three NHK Culture centers, led by 'Yawataya Isogoro,' a long-established manufacturer with over 280 years of history in front of Zenko-ji Temple. In this course, you can actually handle the ingredients and aromas of Shichimi to create your own one-of-a-kind blend. While learning about the knowledge and ways to enjoy Shichimi unique to a long-established shop, participants will experience the profound charm of this spice. This is the first time the event will be held in the Kanto region, taking place on June 9 at the NHK Culture Kashiwa and Saitama Arena classrooms. Additionally, it will be held locally in Nagano at the NHK Culture Matsumoto iCITY21 classroom on April 15. Whether you want to 'highlight the aroma,' 'strengthen the numbing spiciness,' or 'match it to your favorite dish,' there is no fixed recipe. Participants will rely on their own senses, checking the aroma and flavor of the ingredients, and making fine adjustments to find their ideal 'golden ratio.' The Shichimi, created by balancing aroma, spiciness, and umami with all five senses, is truly your own original blend. The finished Shichimi will be packed and given to you on the spot. Furthermore, you can take home a special empty tin designed with the pattern of the Yawataya Isogoro main store.
