Our organization supports 'April Dream,' an initiative that encourages people to share their dreams on April 1st. This press release represents the dream of PLAS.
Our dream is to create a society where all children, no matter where they are born in the world, can live with a positive outlook.
To date, we have been working in Uganda and Kenya, Africa, standing alongside children, youth, and their families who are facing difficult circumstances.
Over 20 years of experience in the field, we have compiled manuals for counseling and training that help children believe in their own strength and envision their future, even amidst challenging situations.
In one program, the percentage of children who answered, 'I believe that if I try my best, I can always solve difficult problems,' increased from 14% at the start of the program to 65.1% by the end.

These changes were born from the knowledge and experience we have accumulated on the ground in Africa.
However, efforts to support children should not be limited to specific regions. There are people facing the challenges of raising and supporting children in various places all over the world.

We are making the counseling and training manuals we have cultivated in the field available online so that anyone can utilize them.
We aim for these experiences to serve as hints and clues for families and educational settings that are struggling with child-rearing while facing children every day. Furthermore, we hope that by being utilized by organizations in other regions and local NGOs working to support children, these efforts to support children will spread even further.
As knowledge and experience are opened up and utilized in various places, the power to support children will spread throughout society.
Furthermore, while expanding the support methods cultivated in Uganda and Kenya to other parts of Africa, we will continue to learn through our field activities and develop them into forms that can reach even more children.
By doing so, we aim to eliminate children left behind in the world and realize a society where all children can have hope and carve out their own lives. This is our April Dream.
About NPO PLAS PLAS is an NPO working toward a society where marginalized children in Africa can live with a positive outlook. Since our establishment in 2005, our policy has been 'creating' support rather than just 'giving' it. We engage in parent-child support projects for children and families in the 'last mile' where support is hard to reach, sex education projects to prevent early pregnancy and childbirth, and organizational capacity-building projects for local partner organizations.
