NEXTES Signs Strategic Agreement with Global Battery Leader AESC for 1.5GWh Storage Cell Procurement

NEXTES Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Setagaya-ku, Tokyo; CEO: Masao Inoue; hereinafter 'NEXTES'), a provider of advanced battery control technologies, has concluded a strategic procurement agreement for storage battery cells with AESC, one of the world's leading smart battery companies. Under this agreement, NEXTES will procure a total of 1.5 GWh of cells for energy storage over a three-year period beginning in 2026. The contract was signed during the 'SMART ENERGY WEEK' held at Tokyo Big Sight in March 2026.

### Background and Objectives: Strengthening the Supply Chain for the Rapidly Expanding Grid Storage Market With the expansion of renewable energy, the installation of grid-scale storage systems is accelerating globally. In Japan, the market is expected to grow significantly over the coming years as electricity market regulations are refined.

In this environment, a stable supply of battery cells is a critical factor for the competitiveness of storage systems. This agreement allows NEXTES to secure a medium-to-long-term stable supply of AESC's high-quality cells. Amidst global supply-demand tightness for components, NEXTES aims to strengthen its execution capabilities for storage projects in both Japanese and global markets by building a robust supply chain.

### Future Outlook The procured battery cells will be used in storage systems developed by NEXTES and its 100% owned subsidiary in Shanghai, Shanghai Yifei Tiandi Electronic Control Technology Co., Ltd. (EVTD).

Through this stable procurement partnership, NEXTES aims to improve the reliability and supply capacity of its storage systems and steadily execute grid-scale storage projects. By doing so, the company contributes to the proliferation of storage systems as critical infrastructure supporting renewable energy.
