What is 'Iichako'?
Green tea highballs (“ryokucha hai”) have recently gained popularity among younger generations. To make premium barley shochu 'Iichiko' more approachable, 'Iichako' was created by mixing Iichiko with green tea. 'Iichako' offers a smooth, rounded flavor where the aroma and umami of Iichiko and green tea blend harmoniously. The koji-derived umami pairs exceptionally well with fermented foods like miso and soy sauce, making it a favorite across all ages and genders. Its versatility complements Japanese, Western, and ethnic cuisines alike.
Iichako: Special Price 500 JPY (tax included) ■ Oiichiko: 320 JPY (tax included)
※ 'Oiichiko' refers to a refill of Iichiko served on the rocks.
※ For optimal flavor, we recommend limiting 'Oiichiko' to two refills.
'Iichako' Brand-Specific Pairing Menu Examples
The signature dishes of each of the five 'Nonki' brands have been reimagined to pair with the crisp taste and green tea aroma of 'Iichako.' Enjoy these summer-only special pairings that highlight each brand’s unique character, enhanced by the depth only premium barley shochu can provide.
