At the Ukraine National Day celebration held in Kyiv, the capital of Ukraine, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen announced on the 15th (Wednesday) that Ukraine and the European Union (EU) have reached a drone cooperation agreement.
Von der Leyen stated that Ukraine is gradually transforming from a buyer of weapons into a supplier for Europe's security network.
She emphasized that the EU and Ukraine must jointly leverage Ukraine's unique combat experience accumulated in the fields of drones and counter-drone systems.
Von der Leyen pointed out that Europe possesses immense technological and industrial potential, with secure and reliable production bases capable of supporting rapid capacity expansion. This agreement will combine Ukraine's innovative capabilities with Europe's industrial scale, sending a clear signal to the world: now is the time to invest in Ukraine and in collective security.
