Networking equipment manufacturer D-Link (2332-TW) announced on the 8th that it has successfully entered the supply chain of SpaceX, the global leader in low-Earth orbit satellites, securing a major order for 20,000 network switches. Alongside recent wins in large-scale customized projects in Europe and the Asia-Pacific region, robust fundamental developments have ignited investor confidence, driving the company’s stock price up 20.25% this week. The stock closed at NT$24.05 today, marking three consecutive days of gains.
Looking back at D-Link’s recent financial performance, the company reported first-quarter consolidated revenue of NT$3.441 billion, a 3.1% year-on-year increase, driven by recovering demand for enterprise networking and smart connectivity. Gross margin stood at 25.3%, with operating profit at NT$31.55 million and pre-tax profit at NT$25.64 million, indicating continued improvement in operational health. With new major orders from SpaceX expected to begin shipping in September, the second half of the year is poised for even stronger growth momentum.
This marks D-Link’s successful entry into the key supply chain of SpaceX, a world-leading aerospace manufacturer. The company will supply specialized network switches for data exchange nodes in SpaceX’s Starlink satellite internet project. Given the extreme requirements for information security and geopolitical risk in aerospace communications, all products for this project are manufactured exclusively in Taiwan, fully complying with the highest procurement standards under both the U.S. NDAA (National Defense Authorization Act) and TAA (Trade Agreements Act).
Beyond the U.S. aerospace market, D-Link has also made significant breakthroughs in Europe’s core telecom market. It has partnered with a top-tier German broadband and telecommunications network operator to provide 4G FWA (Fixed Wireless Access) equipment specifically designed for high-density urban communication environments. The equipment is scheduled to begin shipping by year-end, with a total volume of 50,000 units. It will primarily serve business and individual users for internet access or act as a temporary alternative during the setup period for new fixed-line broadband subscriptions.
In response to price competition from Chinese networking manufacturers, D-Link continues to uphold its core value of safety and reliability, actively expanding into global high-end critical infrastructure markets. Recently, the company secured a national-level smart lamppost project in Thailand, Southeast Asia, with a deployment scale of 100,000 units. In Japan, D-Link is collaborating with NTTBP, a subsidiary of the NTT East Japan Group, to assist in building public network services using Wi-Fi 6 wireless access points.
For future growth initiatives, D-Link announced during its investor briefing its expansion into the AI robotics market, focusing on two key applications: safety protection and intelligent companionship, aiming to develop service-based business models. Simultaneously, the company is jointly investing with strategic partners in the development of 100G and 400G AI high-speed switches. Future products will integrate switches, wireless access points, and cloud management platforms, comprehensively meeting regional enterprises’ high-speed transmission demands for AI computing and data centers.
