The 2026 Taiwan International Water Week (TIWW) will take place from October 14 to 16, 2026, at Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center Hall 1. The Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA) announced that this year’s exhibition will center on three core themes: 'Smart Water, Resilient Water, Clean Water,' showcasing water resource management technologies and advanced solutions to strengthen water supply resilience, reduce operational risks, and enhance AI production efficiency and international competitiveness. Online pre-registration for visitors is now open, and TAITRA is inviting domestic and international industry players to register early and seize emerging business opportunities in industrial water transformation.
Amid global climate change, net-zero transitions, and the rapid advancement of the AI industry, water has become a strategic resource essential for corporate operational stability and sustainable development. Market research indicates that the global industrial wastewater treatment market is projected to grow from USD 21.05 billion in 2026 to USD 32.22 billion by 2034, representing a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 5.5%. The Asia-Pacific region led the world in market share in 2025, capturing 41%.
Rising industrial water demand, increasingly stringent environmental regulations, and the manufacturing sector’s accelerated push for water recycling are driving continuous expansion in the water treatment and smart water management markets, creating substantial business opportunities.
To meet the needs of industrial upgrading and sustainable transformation, TAITRA stated that this year’s exhibition will bring together key domestic and international public, private, and research institutions in the water technology sector, including the Water Resources Agency, Taipei City Government, and the Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI). The event will present comprehensive solutions spanning water treatment, water recycling, and smart water systems, helping enterprises build stable water supply mechanisms, achieve energy savings and carbon reduction, and establish green supply chains.
In the field of water treatment technologies, international companies such as French firm SUEZ, U.S.-based NALCO and Thermo Fisher, Mitsubishi Chemical (4188-JP), Kuo Tung (8936-TW), LCY Group, Jisheng (1455-TW), Fengpei Environmental, and Huanding will showcase critical technologies including seawater desalination, wastewater treatment, industrial purification, and wastewater recovery.
They will also provide ultrapure water systems and industrial water treatment solutions tailored for AI and high-tech industries. In the smart water sector, companies such as Synology, Yeezhan, Jeteng, Suntex, and Ming Hsiang will focus on digital twin technology, smart monitoring, intelligent process management, and AI applications to help enterprises improve operational efficiency and water resource management.
In addition to showcasing the latest technologies and equipment, the exhibition will host a series of professional events, including TECH Talks, product launches, procurement matchmaking sessions, and the 'TIWW Sustainability Forum.' These events will invite domestic and international experts to discuss forward-looking topics such as global water risk management, drinking water safety, AI-driven smart water systems, and sustainable governance, fostering cross-sector collaboration and international partnerships.
TAITRA noted that the second edition of the 'AquaImpact Sustainable Water Mark Evaluation Program' will continue to recognize enterprises demonstrating outstanding performance in net-zero emissions, water resource management, and sustainable innovation. The awards ceremony will be held during the exhibition to encourage continued industry investment in sustainability and enhance Taiwan’s global competitiveness in water technology. The event serves not only as a vital stage to showcase innovations in water technology but also as a key platform for connecting global supply chains, expanding international cooperation, and shaping future market strategies.
