'Marvel Rivals' Season 9 'Legend of Thebes' Kicks Off July 10th! New Hero 'Jubilee' Joins the Fight

Marvel Games and NetEase Games are pleased to announce that Season 9, 'Legend of Thebes,' for the superhero PVP team shooter 'Marvel Rivals' will commence on July 10, 2026 (Fri).

This season introduces a wealth of new content, including the arrival of the new hero 'Jubilee' as a Strategist, a major overhaul of the Team-Up system, a complete rework of Black Widow, the new Convoy map 'Thebes,' and the new game mode 'Road to Ruin - Avengers/Age of Ultron.'

Furthermore, 'The Hood' is scheduled to join the roster in Season 9.5, which will be the latter half of the season.

New Hero 'Jubilee' Joins as a Strategist!

Season 9 features the popular X-Men character 'Jubilee' as a new hero. Jubilee is a Strategist who manipulates dazzling fireworks energy. In combat, she can use vibrant energy plasmoids to heal allies while inflicting damage and blinding effects on enemies. Her ultimate ability envelops the battlefield in brilliant fireworks, delivering a powerful blow to opponents.

Major Updates Including New Maps and Modes!

Season 9 will implement a significant overhaul of the Team-Up system for all heroes. Each hero will possess two independent Team-Up Ability loadouts, each with 'Base Effects' and 'Synergy Effects,' enabling more diverse cooperative play tailored to team composition and battle situations. Popular past Team-Ups such as 'Metallic Chaos' are also slated for a return.

Additionally, Black Widow's combat loop will be completely reworked to offer a fresh play experience. Furthermore, the new Convoy map 'Thebes' will be released on July 23rd, followed by the new game mode 'Road to Ruin - Avengers/Age of Ultron' on July 30th. Players can engage in battles against Ultron's robotic legions across iconic locations like Avengers Tower and Ultron's data space.

Marvel Rivals Mid-Season Finals to be Held in Los Angeles

From July 29th to August 1st, the 'Marvel Rivals Mid-Season Finals' will take place in Los Angeles. The top 10 teams from four global regions will gather to compete for the title of world champion in the inaugural competitive season.

Details regarding the tournament schedule and ticket sales will be released on the official website on July 7th (PT).
