Nippon Electric Glass to Exhibit Sonarion™ Glass Diaphragms at OTOTEN2026

Nippon Electric Glass Co., Ltd. (Head Office: Otsu City, Shiga Prefecture, President: Akira Kishimoto, hereinafter referred to as NEG) will exhibit at "OTOTEN2026," one of Japan's largest audio events, to be held from June 19 (Fri) to 21 (Sun), 2026, at the Tokyo International Forum. At our booth, we will display glass diaphragms using our ultra-thin glass "Sonarion™". Visitors will also be able to experience listening to speakers and earphones equipped with these diaphragms.

■About Sonarion™ Diaphragm

Sonarion™ is an ultra-thin glass developed by NEG for diaphragms in acoustic devices. NEG has jointly developed glass diaphragms using Sonarion™ with GAIT (Glass Acoustic Innovations Co., Ltd.) in Taiwan, which possesses precision 3D glass processing technology. By applying three-dimensional molding and special chemical strengthening treatment to specially developed glass, we have achieved the characteristics required for acoustic materials.

・Compared to materials like paper and metal, the rise and fall of sound are faster, delivering clear and crisp sound with minimal distortion.

・As a characteristic of the material, it has high internal loss of vibration, resulting in less material-induced sound.
