The "Nara Kōgei no Sui" Exhibition (organized by Nara Shimbun Co., Ltd.) continues to evolve annually to promote traditional crafts from Nara Prefecture. Following the 9th exhibition, the 10th installment this year will also feature the theme of "Mahoroba" and will open an online shop featuring new works by artists for a limited period from April 1 at 3:00 PM to April 29 at 11:59 PM. Please take this opportunity to view works that express the beauty of Nara.

▼What is the "Artist New Work Project"?

Popular artists from the "Nara Kōgei no Sui" Exhibition create "new works" inspired by a specifically for this exhibition. The online shop will be open for a limited time only for the "Artist New Work Project" after the physical exhibition period. The purpose is to widely publicize Nara's artists and their works nationwide and to support their creative activities. All works are new. Rare and exquisite items that can only be purchased at this exhibition will be on display.

▼What is the unified theme "Mahoroba"?

"Yamato wa kuni no Mahoroba" (Yamato is the finest land) was sung by Yamato Takeru, an eternal word expressing the beauty and sublimity of Nara. Each artist expresses their own "Mahoroba" in their works.
