〜"Sowing Seeds of Sleep" to make social issues personal. A new form of SDGs connecting deep sleep and essence〜
Juliette Co., Ltd. (Representative Director: Emi Kanda), which operates the organic cotton brand "nanadecor," will begin recruiting members for "Seed to Future 2026," a one-year circular experiential program connecting Omotesando in the heart of the city to terraced rice fields in Izumo, Shimane Prefecture.
nanadecor started cotton cultivation in 2021 in the terraced rice fields of Sannoji, Unnan City, Shimane Prefecture. With the depopulation of the village, which was selected as one of Japan's 100 Terraced Rice Fields, fallow land was converted to cotton cultivation. Through participatory events, the company has increased the number of people involved and has now reached a point where it can sell pure Japan-made products from the cultivated cotton.
In conjunction with "Cotton Day" on Sunday, May 10, 2026, an experiential event for the circular project "Seed to Future - Sowing Seeds of Sleep -" will be held at the Omotesando main store "Salon de nanadecor." This program is not merely an agricultural experience, but an attempt to connect a new lifestyle—"sleeping deeply and sprouting one's essential seeds" from sowing a single seed—with solving social issues.
Tangible SDGs from Omotesando to Izumo
Connecting circulation from Omotesando to Izumo: The "Sowing Seeds of Sleep" event held in Omotesando on May 10th will involve sowing seeds inherited from the terraced rice fields of Sannoji, Unnan City, Shimane Prefecture, one of Japan's 100 Terraced Rice Fields. Currently, nanadecor is distributing these seeds for free at both its main store and online. From the urban everyday, you can participate in social issues in a place rooted in Japan's oldest shrine.
Experiencing social issues throughout the year: Climate change, degradation of terraced rice fields, decline of manufacturing industries, child labor, human rights issues—by accompanying the cotton cultivation process from sowing to harvesting and productization, participants will learn about these issues as their own over the course of a year.
Connecting with one's essential self through "sleep": Just as seeds sleep in the soil and sprout, our deep sleep is a time for our essential seeds to sprout within us. This accompanying program helps us remember the rhythm of nature, recover ourselves from busy daily life and information overload, and provides an opportunity to re-examine what is truly important.
Supporting the production of pure Japan-made cotton and returning it to raw materials
Your support fee of 10,000 yen per unit (seed money for the future) will be returned to cover the cost of raw cotton for the rare "Izumo Cotton."
Challenge for fair pricing: We aim for a cycle that delivers pure Japan-made products, which tend to be expensive, at a sustainable and fair price.
Return as member benefits: As proof of the program, you will receive a rare "eye mask" made from cotton grown in the terraced rice fields.
Members can enjoy the "sleep cycle" at their own comfortable pace, without overexertion.
- Plant: Touch the soil at the seed-sowing event in May (Omotesando/Okuizumo) - Watch over: Learn about the growth of cotton and the current state of the region through newsletters and sharing sessions (Zoom) - Cultivate: Cherish a small seed at home (seeds distributed to those who wish) - Receive: Enjoy peaceful sleep with the delivered eye mask - Harvest: Celebrate the harvest event together in November

We will share the effort and time behind how a single seed becomes thread and then pajamas, pursuing a fulfilling way of sleeping that goes beyond mere consumption.
This season, the "Okuizumo Cotton Pajamas" (77,000 yen including tax) made from rare Okuizumo cotton have also been completed. Until the end of May, free seed distribution is also being carried out at the Omotesando main store and online shop, and a unique participatory circular system has been established to collect cotton harvested at home and return it to future products.
