June 12 is 'Love and Revolution Indian Curry Day' – Shinjuku Nakamura-ya Celebrates 99 Years of its Restaurant

Nakamura-ya Co., Ltd. is celebrating the 99th anniversary of its tea room (restaurant) operations by hosting a series of special events, including the launch of limited-edition products and a special tasting event, at the Shinjuku Nakamura-ya flagship store starting June 12, 2026, coinciding with 'Love and Revolution Indian Curry Day.'

Since opening the tea room on June 12, 1927, and launching its iconic 'Pure Indian-style Curry,' the company has remained in the same location in Shinjuku. This year, in honor of the 99th anniversary, the company will roll out special projects based on the theme of '9'—a number with sacred and positive connotations in India—and its signature 'Indian Curry.'

The events will begin on Friday, June 12, 2026, at various participating stores.

■ Manna: Limited-time new menu 'Navratan Korma Curry'
This special 99th-anniversary curry uses nine seasonal vegetables. As the name 'Navratan' implies ('nine gems' in Hindi), the dish offers a colorful array of vegetables and is served with three side dishes. The price is 2,970 yen (including tax).

■ Granna: One-day special tasting event 'Nine Gems and the Banquet of Early Summer'
On June 12 only, the restaurant will serve a special course menu featuring ingredients from the 'Pure Indian-style Curry.' This course, including 'nine small appetizers' and the Navratan Korma curry, showcases Nakamura-ya's long-standing tradition and techniques. The price is 12,000 yen (including tax, reservation required).

■ Bonna: Limited-time product 'Spice-scented An-croquette'
This product features Hokkaido red bean paste (anko) cooked in-store, mixed with Nakamura-ya's signature 'Pure Curry Powder,' breaded, and deep-fried to a crisp. Sales run from June 12 to June 14.

■ Bonna x Nakamura-ya Salon Museum: Collaboration packaging 'Love and Revolution Spice Cookie Tin'
In collaboration with the Nakamura-ya Salon Museum, the popular Spice Cookie tin will feature exclusive packaging designed with Tsune Nakamura’s painting 'Small Girl' (1914), reflecting the museum's exhibition.

■ Prize Draw
A lottery will be held where customers can participate for every 2,000 yen (excluding tax) spent at Manna, Granna, or Bonna. Prizes include meal vouchers for Nakamura-ya flagship restaurants.
