Special Event for 'Wagashi Day' on June 16th

The custom of eating wagashi (Japanese sweets) on June 16th to pray for health and happiness originates from a story in 848 (the first year of the Kasho era), when Emperor Nimmyo offered 16 sweets to the gods to ward off epidemics, a tradition that was maintained until the Meiji era. Nagomi no Yoneya will hold a special event on June 16th (Tue) for one day only to celebrate this Wagashi Day!

[About Nagomi no Yoneya]
Founded in 1899. It began when the founder was inspired by 'Kurikan' (chestnut yokan), a shojin ryori (vegetarian dish) served at Naritasan Shinshoji Temple, and created 'Chestnut Yokan' kneaded with local Shiba chestnuts to sell as a souvenir for visitors to Naritasan. We create various sweets such as Yokan, Peanut Monaka, Dorayaki, and seasonal fresh sweets.
