Towards a 52% Reduction: Greenhouse Gas Emissions to be Cut by 2032

Nakano Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Kurobe City, Toyama Prefecture, Representative Director and President: Takashi Nakano), which handles the processing, manufacturing, and sales of metal products, is pleased to announce that it has obtained certification for its greenhouse gas emission reduction targets under the SME-SBT (Science Based Targets initiative for Small and Medium-sized Enterprises) set by SBTi, an international initiative.
This further strengthens our efforts towards decarbonization, in light of the growing environmental challenges in recent years.
SBTi is an international initiative that supports and certifies greenhouse gas emission reduction targets aligned with the Paris Agreement's goal of "keeping the global average temperature increase well below 2°C above pre-industrial levels and pursuing efforts to limit the increase to 1.5°C."
The SME-SBT is positioned as a framework for small and medium-sized enterprises to realistically and effectively engage in emission reduction.
By acquiring this certification, our company will further promote its decarbonization efforts as a company committed to greenhouse gas emission reduction targets aligned with international standards.

■ Regarding Greenhouse Gas Emission Reduction Targets
Our company has set greenhouse gas emission reduction targets as follows:

・Base year: 2025
・Target year: 2032
・Reduction target: Reduce Scope 1 and Scope 2 greenhouse gas emissions by 52% compared to the base year.
Regarding Scope 3 emissions, we will work on measurement and reduction.
