"MUSIC AWARDS JAPAN 2026 Enka/Kayokyoku LIVE [Best Enka/Kayokyoku Song Award Ceremony]" to be held on June 11th

The General Incorporated Association for the Promotion of Culture and Entertainment Industry (CEIPA), established by the five major music industry organizations (Recording Industry Association of Japan, Japan Music Business Association, Japan Music Producers Federation, Japan Music Publishers Association, Concert Promoters Association), will hold the "MUSIC AWARDS JAPAN 2026 Enka/Kayokyoku LIVE [Best Enka/Kayokyoku Song Award Ceremony]" on Thursday, June 11th, as part of the event week for its "MUSIC AWARDS JAPAN" (MAJ) awards.

"MUSIC AWARDS JAPAN," the largest international music award in Japan with the concept of "Connecting with the world, lighting up the future of music," will not only hold its award ceremony on Saturday, June 13th this year, but also various music-related events during the event week from Friday, June 5th to Saturday, June 13th.

It has been decided that the "MUSIC AWARDS JAPAN 2026 Enka/Kayokyoku LIVE [Best Enka/Kayokyoku Song Award Ceremony]" will be held on Thursday, June 11th, during the event week, to honor the Enka/Kayokyoku division of MAJ. While the main purpose of this event is the MAJ Enka/Kayokyoku division award ceremony, Enka/Kayokyoku, in addition to classical performing arts, is positioned as Japanese soul music, and we will continue to disseminate traditional Japanese culture to the world. The live performance will feature leading Japanese Enka/Kayokyoku artists, and in addition to singing, performances showcasing traditional Japanese performing arts are also planned.

Furthermore, this year, "YouTube Music Weekend: MUSIC AWARDS JAPAN 2026 Edition" will be held from Friday, June 5th to Sunday, June 7th, 2026, and the "YouTube Music Weekend: MUSIC AWARDS JAPAN 2026 Edition - Enka/Kayokyoku" program will be held for the first time during the daytime on Sunday, June 7th.
