Para-athlete Tomoki Sato, affiliated with Morisawa (who achieved double victories in the men's para-athletics [T52 class] 1500m and 400m at the Tokyo 2020 Paralympics), won three events—the 100m, 400m, and 1500m—at the "WPA-Approved 2026 Aichi Para Athletics Festival" held on Saturday, April 18, and Sunday, April 19, 2026.
A comment has arrived from athlete Sato after finishing the competition.
"Thank you everyone for your support. I was able to run comfortably and smoothly in the 400m, and as a result, I am very happy to have shortened the Asian record* time I set in Switzerland last year by 0.21 seconds. (*This competition certified it as a Japan record due to tournament circumstances.) It was a race where I could feel my own growth. As for the 1500m, it was my first long-distance event in a while, and there were tough moments, but I persevered to the end and was able to achieve my goal of finishing within 3 minutes and 30 seconds. Regarding the 100m as well, I focused on the finishing order this time and felt I ran exactly as I had envisioned, giving me a solid sense of response. Looking ahead, I have the GP series in Switzerland (3 competitions) in late May, the Japan Para Athletics Championships held in Ishikawa in June, and the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Para Games in October coming up. Positioning the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Para Games as the peak of this season, I will absolutely achieve winning gold medals in all events I enter: the 100m, 200m, and 400m. I kindly ask for your continued support."
Morisawa will continue to fully support athlete Tomoki Sato as he challenges further possibilities.
