Mori Trust Co., Ltd. will sequentially hold the "YORIMICHI SAKE KAIDO" sake event across four central Tokyo areas—Kamiyacho, Akasaka, Gotenyama, and Marunouchi—starting in May 2026. Each area will feature regional themes in a relay format, offering an experience where participants can easily discover the charm of sake and local food culture during a casual "detour" after work. The event aims to create new opportunities for interaction primarily for office workers and local residents, while also providing hotel guests in these areas with a chance to experience the allure of rural Japan even while in the city.

Background: Turning Urban "Detours" into Gateways to the Regions

Mori Trust has, until now, promoted regional industry support and tourism industry revitalization through its mixed-use facilities developed and operated in central Tokyo, and its hotel businesses in regional areas. This event leverages the network cultivated with local governments and businesses to use "sake," an industry that expresses regional individuality, as a catalyst for communication. It is designed to naturally foster conversation and connections from a casual "detour" after work. While providing a pleasant "detour" time for office workers and local residents, it also aims to create opportunities for domestic and international guests staying at hotels adjacent to these facilities to experience the charm of rural Japan while in the city.

First Event at "Tokyo World Gate" (Kamiyacho) Theme: "Sake Brewery Road Starting from Echigo"

The first event will be held for two days, May 28 (Thursday) and May 29 (Friday), at "Tokyo World Gate" in the Kamiyacho area, which attracts business people and tourists from both Japan and abroad. Over these two days, sake from more than 10 breweries from Niigata, renowned as a rice-producing region, will be offered. In addition to classic sakes carefully crafted by the brewers, a lineup of rare and limited-distribution brands, unique to this occasion, will be available. Furthermore, "Tokubetsu Honjozo Hakkaisan Blue Bottle," a special project born from the Hakkaisan Sake Brewery Co., Ltd. group to support the Los Angeles Dodgers, has been specially secured for this event and will be sold in limited quantities. At the venue, the stories of the sake breweries, recommended ways to drink, and food pairings will be introduced, providing an experience to deeply enjoy the unique flavors of Niigata. Alongside this, light snacks and appetizers featuring local Niigata flavors will be prepared. Please enjoy the differences in aroma and umami with menus designed to pair well with sake.

Four-Area Tour Campaign

At the venue, a "YORIMICHI Starter Set" (event original masu cup + sake ticket) will be sold to enhance your enjoyment of the event. By touring the booths with a pleasant wooden masu cup in hand, you can feel as if you are on an authentic sake brewery tour right in the heart of the city. Furthermore, those who purchase the original masu cup will be eligible for a campaign to buy sake tickets at a discounted price at subsequent event venues, encouraging participation in all four areas.

Starting with Kamiyacho, an "Area Tour Campaign" will also be implemented, connecting the other planned areas (Akasaka, Gotenyama, Marunouchi). By visiting each venue and collecting LINE digital stamps, participants will be entered into a special prize draw for luxurious prizes.
