In February 2026, Mito Business & Hospitality College (formerly Mito College of Accounting, name changed from April 2026), part of the Hachimonji Gakuen Educational Corporation, conducted a career workshop for first-year students on the verge of full-scale job hunting, titled 'Increase Your Resolution of Society! The First Step Toward a Future of Your Own.'
The workshop featured professionals from ADVANCE Inc., CEO Harunobu Takiguchi and Head of Education Division Hiroki Hori, as well as special guest instructor Keisuke Monguchi, the 5th RISE Featherweight Champion. Under the guidance of instructors active on the front lines of martial arts and business, students from four departments challenged themselves to shift their perspective from being 'the one being chosen' to 'the one who chooses.'
A Day to Update Your View of Work: Job Postings are 'Treasure Maps'
The workshop, split into morning and afternoon sessions, aimed to deepen the students' image of work from a subjective 'looks fun' to an understanding of its 'role in society.'
**[Input and Exploration]** The day started with a workshop to verbalize the 'conditions of a good company.' Students worked in groups to compare 30 job postings and delve into 'what problems the company solves for whom.'
**[Output and Communication]** They created catchphrases to convey the appeal of the researched companies. Furthermore, they worked on specifically connecting (CONNECTING) how their specialized skills (corporate administration, medical administration, hotel, bridal, etc.) could be useful within those companies.
