Mikanbaby LLC's dream is to pursue true inclusivity and create a society where everyone can live their lives with peace of mind.

For us, "future" is a core keyword in our business.

Every service and piece of content Mikanbaby provides has been created with the future in mind. The name Mikanbaby itself embodies the meanings of "thinking about the future" and "a baby as a symbol of something incomplete."

What we aim for is a truly inclusive society, not just in appearance. A society where socially exclusive phenomena that cannot be overcome by one's own power are broken down, and everyone can live their lives with peace of mind. Creating such a future is Mikanbaby's fundamental wish and aspiration.

To achieve this, we do not treat disability as a theme solely for a select few.

We believe that the concept of disability reflects what society currently overlooks, what it misses, and the potential for future updates. We believe that confronting disability is not merely about enhancing welfare, but about re-examining the very systems, cultures, and values of society, leading to their improvement. We firmly believe this.

Mikanbaby has, through various projects such as community building, dialogue platforms, information dissemination, entertainment, research, and collaboration, consistently practiced re-examining societal assumptions starting from disability. These projects include the welfare community-type lab "SFC-IFC" and the "Thinking about the Future of Disability" series, which features "Seminar on Thinking about the Future of Disability" and "Cultural Festival on Thinking about the Future of Disability."

The "Seminar on Thinking about the Future of Disability" is a discussion-based workshop where diverse individuals, regardless of their interests or backgrounds, engage in flat and serious exchanges of opinions.

Furthermore, the "Cultural Festival on Thinking about the Future of Disability" is an experiential practice that allows participants to enjoy and experience disability from various angles, fostering imagination about themselves, society, and the future of disability.

We aim to open up disability not as an "object of understanding" to be confined, but as a perspective for updating society.

From encounters and experiences, new questions, expressions, relationships, dialogues, co-creation, and implementation emerge. We will continue our practice of treating disability not as an isolated theme, but as an entry point for considering the future society.

The future cannot be created by one person alone. Of course, it cannot be created by our company alone. By collaborating with all stakeholders, valuing both logic and emotion, warmly partnering with passionate individuals and organizations, we will move towards the future faster, more warmly, and more appropriately.

That is the way of Mikanbaby.

Future Challenges

Going forward, Mikanbaby will further develop the welfare community-type lab "SFC-IFC" into a place of belonging for even more people and a starting point for new social implementation. We will also advance activities to deliver the "Thinking about the Future of Disability" series to a wider audience. Furthermore, we will explore new societal assumptions by transcending the boundaries of disability and welfare, encompassing various fields such as culture, education, corporations, local communities, and information dissemination.

Incorporating overlooked perspectives and unseen perspectives into the new societal standard. Connecting questions and practices born from disability to meaningful change for more people. And not just talking about the future, but rooting it as actual places, businesses, and cultures. Updating society itself, starting from disability.
