Metsä Moomin Stories Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Hanno City, Saitama Prefecture; President & CEO: Kiyoshi Mochizuki) is celebrating August 9 (Sunday), the birthday of Moomin creator Tove Jansson, as 'Moomin Day' at Moomin Valley Park. The park will host a special day filled with festivities from morning to night, including a character greeting event featuring the entire Moomin Valley gang, a commemorative 'card holder' gift, and the 'Moomin Day Memorial Fireworks 2026' set to the park's original song.
Additionally, the highly popular multi-sensory greeting dinner 'Kippis at Retura Lounge! – An Invitation from the Moomin Valley Friends' will return this year, with advance ticket sales starting July 21 (Tuesday).
From August 9 (Sunday) to August 16 (Sunday), the park will also host 'Moomin Day Special Week,' packed with events such as character card and original sticker giveaways, limited-edition art lattes, and food truck appearances—ensuring every visit is a memorable experience. ▶ Special One-Day-Only Program: Meet the Moomin Valley Friends!
The popular 'Gyugyu Happi! – Squeeze in Happiness! Meet & Greet' will be presented in a special one-time-only version on August 9. Moomin Troll, Little My, Snufkin, Moomin Papa, Moomin Mama, the Ancestor, the Snork Maiden, Sniff, and more will all gather for this exclusive event! To include fans who cannot attend in person, an Instagram Live broadcast is also planned for the day.
Additionally, 50 lucky pairs will be selected by lottery to participate in the 'Moomin Day Special Greeting,' a photo session with Moomin Troll, Little My, Snufkin, Moomin Papa, Moomin Mama, and the Ancestor (tentative).
