Toei Transportation to Hold "Toei Transportation Vehicle Job Exploration Team" Work Experience Event for Elementary School Students ~Inviting 59 Groups (118 People) of Elementary School Students and Guardians~

The Tokyo Metropolitan Government Bureau of Transportation will hold a special summer vacation event for elementary school students, "Toei Transportation Vehicle Job Exploration Team," designed to stimulate children's intellectual curiosity.

At this event, participants can learn directly from staff working on the front lines about the jobs related to the Toei Subway and Toei Buses they use daily, and experience them firsthand.

This year, in addition to the "Toei Subway Course" where participants can experience the subway driving simulator, we have prepared the "Toei Bus Course" where they can experience the jobs of bus drivers and mechanics at a Toei Bus depot. This is the first time we are holding a job experience event for elementary school students at a Toei Bus depot.

Children participating will receive a "Research Report" sheet exclusive to this event. By summarizing what they see, hear, and learn through their experiences, they can use it for their summer vacation free study projects.

Event Overview

1. Toei Bus Course ~Challenge the Jobs of Bus Drivers and Mechanics!~

Participants will infiltrate a Toei Bus depot, see the behind-the-scenes operations not usually visible, and experience various activities that foster familiarity with Toei Buses while learning the tips of bus driving and maintenance from working staff.

Target Participants

Elementary school students living or attending school in Tokyo

1st Session: Grades 1-3

2nd Session: Grades 4-6

*Please participate as a pair with a guardian.

Number of Participants

16 groups (32 people) per session

*If the number of applicants exceeds the capacity, a lottery will be held.

1st Session: August 5, 2026 (Wed) 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM

2nd Session: August 5, 2026 (Wed) 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM

Toei Transportation Sugamo Automobile Depot (2-9-8 Sugamo, Toshima-ku)

*Immediately from Exit A4 of Sugamo Station on the Toei Mita Line, or a 5-minute walk from the North Exit of Sugamo Station on the JR Yamanote Line.

Other

Participants will summarize their learnings from the experience on the "Research Report" sheet provided on the day and submit it to the secretariat later. The submitted "Research Reports" will be data-stored and returned to the participants around mid-August. They may also be exhibited within Toei Subway stations and other Toei Transportation facilities, and published on the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Bureau of Transportation website and other Tokyo metropolitan media.

2. Toei Subway Course ~Challenge Toei Subway Driving with a Simulator!~

Participants can experience training similar to that of professional drivers in the Toei Subway driving simulator room. In addition to challenging themselves with simulator driving, they will learn about the mindset of a driver and the importance of safe transportation from working staff.

Elementary school students living or attending school in Tokyo

1st Session: Grades 1-2

2nd Session: Grades 3-4

3rd Session: Grades 5-6

9 groups (18 people) per session

*Immediately after alighting at the "Fukagawa Garage Entrance" bus stop on Toei Bus, or a 5-minute walk from the "Fukagawa Garage Entrance" bus stop. A 5-minute walk from Shinonome Station on the Rinkai Line.
