In recent years, the risk of heatstroke has been increasing annually due to the impact of climate change and extreme heatwaves.
Amid uncertain energy outlooks this year, the Tokyo Metropolitan Government is promoting 'Tokyo Cool Biz,' centered on three key concepts: a cool working environment, a cool living environment, and a cool dressing environment—aiming to balance smart energy conservation with comfortable daily life.
The Tokyo Metropolitan Government has now produced and released the 'Tokyo Cool Biz Heatstroke Prevention Action Video – Working and Dressing Coolly Edition' at https://youtu.be/9_2f6Z85s8U.
A 2025 Tokyo resident survey on parasol usage found that 97% of respondents felt the effectiveness of parasols in reducing heat exposure. Additionally, the first-ever 'Tokyo Heatstroke Prevention Goods Contest' held this fiscal year selected various outstanding heat-mitigating products through public voting.
This video promotes practical ways to reduce heat stress using temperature-lowering gear and clothing, encouraging people to 'work coolly' and 'dress coolly.'
The video will be distributed via digital signage and online advertisements, and is also available on the Tokyo Metropolitan Government's heatstroke prevention portal website at https://wbgt.metro.tokyo.lg.jp/.
