Professor, Graduate School of Urban Social and Cultural Studies, Yokohama City University

Her expertise includes architecture and urban planning, participatory urban development, urban environments for children, and environmental psychology. She has conducted extensive practical research on the relationship between children and urban spaces and advocates 'Machi-Hoiku'—a community-based childcare approach where local communities collectively create nurturing spaces and safe havens for children.
