The Tokyo Metropolitan Government is conducting a project to support winners of its fashion competitions, 'Next Fashion Designer of Tokyo (NFDT)' and 'Sustainable Fashion Design Award (SFDA),' in staging fashion shows in Paris, France.

At the previous show held in January 2026, 'Tokyo New Designers Fashion Show in Paris,' 14 designers from 13 winning groups showcased their work at Palais de Tokyo, attracting over 350 industry press and buyers. It garnered significant attention as a project for international promotion of young Tokyo-based designers.

Now, the project for 2024 competition winners, aimed at the January 2027 fashion show in Paris, has been launched.

In this project, 15 groups comprising 17 young designers will stage fashion shows in Paris, the world's premier fashion stage, following an 8-month preparation period. They will present their latest looks in a runway format, showcasing the creativity and potential of young designers from Tokyo.

Mentorship for show direction and look production will be provided again by Kunihiko Morinaga, President and Designer of ANREALAGE, who has participated in the official Paris Fashion Week schedule for 11 consecutive years (24 seasons). The actual show will be supported by a team of professionals.

The Tokyo Metropolitan Government is dedicated to promoting the fashion and apparel industry to establish Tokyo as a global fashion hub comparable to Paris, Milan, New York, and London. The competition judges include designers such as Kunihiko Morinaga, Yusuke Takahashi (CFCL), and Tomotaka Koizumi (TOMO KOIZUMI).

The project continues to strengthen international outreach with sustainable perspectives, including inclusive design categories and the reconstruction of traditional materials via SFDA.
