(Headquarters: Hachioji City, Tokyo; President: Isao Nagahama) for the digitalization of forms and operational efficiency in highway maintenance operations.

With the introduction of eYACHO, the company has reduced the time required to create Risk Assessment Kiken Yochi (RKY) activity sheets by approximately 50%. Furthermore, it has streamlined daily report creation, photography, data entry, and aggregation for snow and ice removal operations, resulting in a reduction of approximately 50 hours of man-hours per season.

The company, a group company of NEXCO Central, is an expert group in highway maintenance, performing repairs, snow and ice countermeasures, and accident recovery work on expressways in the Kanto-Koshin area, including the Chuo Expressway, Ken-O Expressway, Higashi-Fujigoko Road, Chubu-Odan Expressway, and Nagano Expressway.

Traditionally, the company managed numerous forms on paper, such as daily work records and RKY activity checklists. Creating many forms after work completion placed a significant burden on the field staff. Additionally, managers had requested more efficient aggregation and confirmation of these forms.

◎ Small Start

To avoid confusion on-site, the introduction began with a trial operation by a four-person work team. Furthermore, the digitalization of forms was limited to two frequently used types: "Driving Daily Report" and "RKY Activity Checklist."

◎ Gradual Expansion of Use

After confirming that the system could be used without problems during the trial operation, it was rolled out to the entire office approximately three months later, and the scope of use was expanded to other forms such as "Work Daily Report."

◎ Reproduction of Form Layouts

By digitizing forms while reproducing the layouts of traditional paper forms, the company ensured that input could be done with the same familiar feel as before, leading to smooth adoption.

By integrating the entire workflow related to forms, from field workers to managers, into eYACHO, the burden on employees was significantly reduced. The main effects are as follows:

・ Reduced RKY sheet creation time by approximately 50%

・ Reduced daily report creation, photography, data entry, and aggregation for snow and ice operations from almost a full day to approximately 10 minutes, saving approximately 50 hours per season

・ Improved efficiency of aggregation work through digitalization

Currently, the company is working on linking eYACHO with its in-house systems to achieve further operational efficiency. They are also considering expanding the use of eYACHO, including leveraging the "GEMBA Talk" video call function and safety management using the "Safety AI Solution."
