Menicon has designated February 8, 1951, the date its founder, Kyoichi Tanaka, succeeded in developing the first practical corneal contact lens, as its "Founding Day." This year marks the company's 75th anniversary. Since its founding, Menicon has valued milestones every quarter-century (25 years), and the 75th anniversary is positioned as the starting point for new challenges towards the next quarter-century and the 100th anniversary. The theme for the 75th-anniversary project is "Wind of Challenge." The entire group will unite to create a new movement, connecting to the next 100 years. Through this anniversary project, we will accelerate our challenges for the future and further strengthen our efforts to address social issues, such as myopia progression control. Building on the philosophy inherited since its founding, Menicon will continue its journey towards the next 100 years by advancing technological innovation and global expansion.

75th Anniversary Commemorative Video: Special Movie Released To coincide with the launch of the main website, a 75th-anniversary special movie has been released. This movie is structured to allow viewers to "feel" the history rather than just "read" it. The beginning carefully conveys the founder's beliefs and original aspirations, while the middle and latter parts emotionally express the precision rooted in Japanese manufacturing, its current global expansion, and future challenges. The video is approximately 8 minutes long.
