Meiji Kinenkan stands quietly in a corner of the Meiji Jingu Outer Precinct. In 1881, it was built at the site of the current State Guest House as a dining hall to entertain guests from various countries at the Akasaka Temporary Palace. Afterwards, it was relocated to its current location, and on November 1, 1947, it opened as a reception facility for Meiji Jingu. To date, more than 230,000 couples have held their weddings here, and the facility caters to various events such as MICE and parties. It is also used as a facility where guests can enjoy restaurants and cafes.
