Meiji University School of Political Science and Economics to Host Commemorative Symposium for the Launch of the Department of Policy Studies on July 3 (Fri)

Meiji University School of Political Science and Economics will host a commemorative symposium on July 3 (Fri) at the Surugadai Campus to mark the launch of the Department of Policy Studies. Participation is free of charge and no prior registration is required.

The symposium will feature panel discussions with Yuji Kuroiwa, Governor of Kanagawa Prefecture, and Hiroko Mon, Member of the House of Representatives (former official at the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry), alongside Professor Yasuyuki Iida from the School of Political Science and Economics. From the perspectives of national government, prefectural administration, and academia, the panel will discuss multidimensionally the future direction of public policy and the ideal profile of policy professionals needed in society.

The event will also introduce the rationale behind the establishment of the Department of Policy Studies, along with its educational and research outlook.
