Solvvy Inc., a group company of MediaSeek Corporation (President and CEO: Naoki Nishio), is launching a new brand, GRAVITY/NeO (Gravity/Neo), from its project on sustainable, real diamonds grown in laboratories using advanced technology—commonly known as lab-grown diamonds. This new brand emerges from GRAVITY, the jewelry brand once popularized by the late BUCK-TICK's Atsushi Sakurai as its ambassador. The concept centers on 'creating futuristic, conceptual designs worthy of artificial diamonds.'
Lab-grown diamonds are cultivated in laboratories and possess the same chemical composition (carbon), crystal structure, and physical and optical properties as natural diamonds. They are recognized as 'real diamonds' by the Gemological Institute of America (GIA) and the U.S. Federal Trade Commission (FTC). This marks the second phase of our diamond project.
The ultimate sustainable real diamond, born from the mysteries of the vast universe.
About Koduka Nakaba, GRAVITY, and GRAVITY/NeO
Koduka Nakaba has worked primarily in the music industry as an advertising art director and designer, creating works for renowned artists such as HY, BUCK-TICK, Kazuyoshi Saito, and TM NETWORK. At one point, he desired to create his own original works. In 2007, he produced an art book titled 'SILENT CODE,' themed around space and science fiction—interests he had since childhood. This caught the attention of Swarovski, which invited him to design jewelry. His pieces later graced the cover of Swarovski Gemstones’ official global catalog in 2015. This led to the launch of GRAVITY, a space-themed jewelry brand, in 2017.
GRAVITY signifies not only physical 'gravity' but also the 'attraction' and 'bonds' that draw people, places, and moments together. At the time, BUCK-TICK's Atsushi Sakurai served as the visual image model, contributing greatly to the brand's popularity.
Meanwhile, through his interactions with journalist Kenji Goto (later killed by an extremist group), Nakaba began co-hosting collaborative exhibitions starting in 2009. Influenced by Goto’s book 'I Want Peace More Than Diamonds' (Shiobunsha), Nakaba visited diamond mining sites in Central Africa and witnessed the harsh conditions firsthand—experiences that ultimately inspired the creation of GRAVITY/NeO, a sustainable diamond brand.

Labor in diamond mining is terrifyingly harsh and harms many people. Lab-grown diamonds are the crystallization of human wisdom. They embody radiant, beautiful art, the mathematics behind precise cutting, and the engineering and science that meticulously crystallize carbon. They also carry a philosophy that harms no one on Earth. GRAVITY/NeO weaves the story of this beautiful crystal. (by Koduka Nakaba)
What Are Lab-Grown Diamonds?
Unlike natural diamonds, which take billions of years to form deep within the Earth’s mantle, lab-grown diamonds are artificially cultivated in laboratories over several weeks to months. They share the same chemical composition (carbon), crystal structure, and physical and optical properties as natural diamonds, making them indistinguishable to even professional gemological laboratories. Recognized as genuine diamonds by the Gemological Institute of America (GIA) and the U.S. Federal Trade Commission (FTC), they are produced via HPHT (High Pressure High Temperature) or CVD (Chemical Vapor Deposition) methods. These sustainable and ethical diamonds avoid the environmental destruction and human rights issues associated with mining. Additionally, without the costs of extraction and distribution, they are accessible at one-third to one-tenth the price of natural diamonds, while consistently maintaining high standards in the 4Cs: Cut, Color, Clarity, and Carat weight.
※1 CVD Method: Also known as Chemical Vapor Deposition, it is characterized by producing colorless, transparent, high-quality diamonds.
HPHT Method: Known as High Pressure High Temperature, it produces larger stones with warm, natural hues.
