Our Researcher Receives the Agricultural Chemistry Technology Award from the Agricultural Chemical Society of Japan

Mitsubishi Corporation Life Sciences Limited (Head Office: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President: Koji Shimizu) is pleased to announce that Ms. Hisae Aoshima, a Fellow Researcher at our company, along with Professor Hiroyasu Kashiwagi of Shizuoka University (Shizuoka City, Shizuoka Prefecture), received the "Agricultural Chemistry Technology Award" at the awards ceremony held by the Agricultural Chemical Society of Japan on March 9, 2026.

Award Overview 【Society/Award Name】Agricultural Chemical Society of Japan "Agricultural Chemistry Technology Award" 【Awarded Achievement】"Practical Application of Fairy Compound AOH as a Cosmetic Ingredient" 【Collaborative Research】Professor Hiroyasu Kashiwagi, Faculty of Agriculture, Shizuoka University (National University Corporation) Since 2018, our company, in collaboration with Professor Kashiwagi of Shizuoka University, has been promoting research towards the practical application of azahypoxanthine (AOH), a type of fairy compound, as a cosmetic ingredient. AOH has been confirmed to have functions that keep the skin healthy, such as preventing rough skin, conditioning the stratum corneum, and improving skin texture. Ms. Aoshima was comprehensively responsible for the entire development process, from functional evaluation to safety testing. The results led to the launch of the cosmetic ingredient "Lepista" in October 2022. The series of initiatives, which have been steadily accumulating market achievements through adoption by multiple brands, have been highly recognized, leading to this award.
