The survey indicated 52% of Japanese football fans were interested in World Cup matches, with 23% of those under 40 having searched for tickets, versus 10% of those over 40. Only 30% expressed strong desire or possibility to attend matches locally. Reasons for considering unofficial sources included "willingness to take risks" (26%), "difficulty finding official sources" (21%), "better seats from unofficial sources" (19%), and "cheaper prices" (16%). Tyler McGee, Asia Head of McAfee Co., Ltd., advised verifying information sources and avoiding suspicious links.
