Solving Local Employment Challenges with "Municipal Official Matchbox"
"Municipal Official Matchbox" can be customized to the human resource challenges of each municipality, making it usable by any municipality regardless of population size or industrial characteristics. By providing employment opportunities in units of one day or several hours to individuals who find it difficult to work long, fixed hours due to various circumstances, such as students, seniors after retirement, and those involved in childcare or nursing care, it unearths the region's "dormant workforce." This simultaneously supports local businesses struggling with labor shortages in securing workers and increases the income of local residents by improving employment rates across a wide range of generations.
Currently, its adoption is expanding in municipalities across the country, including Niigata Prefecture. In July 2026, Toyama Prefecture will launch "Toyama Matchbox", expanding its scope to all industries based on its achievements in the agricultural sector, and Yakushima Town in Kagoshima Prefecture will newly establish "Yakushima Town Matchbox", contributing to the revitalization of local economies and the creation of sustainable societies in many municipalities.

Benefits for Local Governments to Build Their Own Spot Work Platforms
Our company has supported local governments in solving their human resource challenges by providing platform operation support to many local governments. When local governments utilize "matchbox", they can improve employment opportunities for local residents and secure workers for local companies, as well as flexibly respond to various policies and challenges specific to each municipality. The official operation of spot work platforms by local governments offers the following benefits:
Provision of a safe working environment with thorough compliance
The promotion of spot work led by local governments ensures the reliability of jobs (job postings), allowing users to apply for jobs with peace of mind. "Matchbox" conducts credit investigations on all registered businesses to ensure that workers can apply with confidence. Furthermore, with the added management by the local government, only job postings that allow applicants to work with even greater peace of mind are published. In addition, "Matchbox" is equipped with numerous functions that protect workers, such as "automatic calculation and payment of休業手当 (interruption of work allowance) and overtime pay" and "automatic change of tax classification based on work status," utilizing our unique patented technology (※). This supports the establishment of a safe working environment with thorough legal compliance.
※ Our company holds 19 patents, including basic patents, related to unique functions for promoting a safe spot work culture, including worker protection.

Building Local Communities and Creating Inflow of Visitors through Regionally Rooted Job Postings
Municipal Matchbox only posts region-specific job openings, and due to its official municipal trust, it is widely used even in rural areas where many seniors and first-time spot workers are present. Furthermore, as it matches local residents with local companies, it tends to lead to regular repeat use and long-term employment such as regular hiring. The utilization of Municipal Official Matchbox not only supports flexible work styles for local residents but also is expected to build local communities and resolve the persistent labor shortages of local companies. Some municipalities currently operating the service have recorded work instances by users from outside the prefecture, leading to the creation of inflow of visitors.
We at Matchbox Technologies aim to realize "a society where everyone can work flexibly" by utilizing digital technology. We will continue to collaborate with local governments to contribute to solving local human resource challenges.

"About matchbox"
"Matchbox" is a self-sourcing®︎ type human resource matching platform that enables in-house management of spot work. By registering members (※) in a system developed to match companies, including current employees, alumni (former employees), registered part-time workers, and previously hired spot workers, companies can build their own unique talent pool and significantly reduce recruitment time and costs. Furthermore, since all processes from recruitment to payroll and labor management can be easily managed centrally through the system, it is also ideal for improving operational efficiency. In addition to enabling businesses to select reliable personnel, we aim to provide a fair and safe service for both companies and workers by automatically providing休業手当 (holiday pay) and conducting credit investigations on companies as consideration for job seekers. Matchbox realizes an environment where everyone can work flexibly by building communities based on trust between companies and workers.
※ This is based on the premise of obtaining consent from the worker.
