JW Marriott Hotel Nara (1-1-1 Sanjo-Oji, Nara City, Nara Prefecture, General Manager: Seigo Fujisaki) will offer the "Kids Summer Camp" accommodation plan, which includes children's activities, for a limited time from Saturday, July 4, 2026, to Wednesday, September 30, 2026. In addition to creating summer vacation memories, we have prepared craft and cooking experiences that can also be used as themes for free research projects. This plan will be available not only during the summer vacation period but also until September, when tourist destinations are relatively less crowded, making it suitable for family stays to leisurely enjoy Nara in early autumn.

"Kids Summer Camp" is a popular, limited-time summer program offered as part of JW Marriott's family-oriented program, "Family by JW." Each year, we offer a variety of activities such as craft experiences and art workshops that foster children's creativity and curiosity, and cooking experiences that introduce them to local ingredients.

This year, in addition to making summer-themed soaps by encasing adorable goldfish motifs in transparent soap and creating one-of-a-kind canvas bags, we are introducing a new authentic cooking class held at a restaurant near the hotel, as well as a shadow art experience enjoyed with a Nara-based artist.

Kids Workshop to Foster Creativity (Ages 3-12)

1. Goldfish Soap Making

In honor of Yamatokoriyama City, Nara Prefecture, known as the "town of goldfish," you can enjoy making original soaps by encasing goldfish motifs in transparent soap. You will combine soap and colorful goldfish motifs, pour them into a mold, and add fragrance with the aroma oil used in the hotel's spa. While waiting for the soap to harden, you can also try making goldfish origami.

2. Canvas Bag Making

(Excluding August 10-17)

Create your own unique bag by freely decorating a canvas tote bag with stamps and illustrations. We use fabric pens and stamps that are resistant to washing, so you can use the finished bag as an everyday item for a long time. The completed bag can be taken home as a travel souvenir.

3. Shadow Art Making

(Limited time only from August 10-17)

This is a special workshop held with Chiharu Ryona, a Nara-based artist participating in JW Marriott Hotel Nara's Artist in Residence program. You will place an acrylic board over Ryona's artwork and freely color it to create a fantastical art piece where light and shadow intertwine. You can enjoy an experience that expands your creativity while observing how the size and appearance of shadows change when light is applied. The finished work can be displayed at home as an art frame.

4. Pizza & Crepe Making

At "Torry Pines," a restaurant about a 1-minute walk from the hotel, you can experience making original pizzas and crepes using Nara Prefecture vegetables. This is a food education experience that fosters interest in food and creativity, as children choose their favorite ingredients and enjoy topping them freely. You can enjoy pizzas, crepes, and drinks made while dressed in a chef's hat and apron, becoming little chefs.

*The cooking class is an activity in partnership with an external vendor.
