Marriott International (President and CEO: Anthony Capuano) has announced the opening of 'Sugata Hotel Osaka Shinsaibashi, Series by Marriott' (hereinafter 'Series by Marriott'), a 256-room property in the Shinsaibashi area of Osaka. This marks the brand's first entry into Japan. 'Series by Marriott' is a collection brand that offers travelers a stay connected to the unique charm of the destination through distinct design, natural and comfortable spaces, and carefully curated experiences rooted in local culture. Located near the heart of Osaka's vibrant commercial and lifestyle hub, the hotel is within walking distance of the Shinsaibashi-suji Shopping Arcade, Amerikamura, and the Dotonbori entertainment district. It is also close to Namba area landmarks like Hozenji Temple, Kuromon Market, and Namba Yasaka Shrine. The hotel features 256 rooms designed for modern comfort while reflecting the warmth and culture of Osaka. The 'Ampere Coffee & Kitchen' offers a variety of dishes inspired by local ingredients and food culture. The core design philosophy is based on the Japanese concept of 'Sugata' (form/presence), reflecting the persona of a 'local guide who knows Osaka inside out.' The interior uses natural materials and calm tones, with art panels inspired by the ginkgo trees of Midosuji. This opening represents a significant milestone for the brand's expansion in the Asia-Pacific region.
