MarkLines Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo, President and CEO: Makoto Sakai, http://www.marklines.com/) has published the February 2026 Electric Vehicle (xEV) Sales Monthly Report (excluding commercial vehicles, including estimates), analyzing the number of electric vehicles and sales trends in the global market for 15 major countries covering approximately 90% of global electric vehicle sales.

■ Global Electric Vehicle Sales Volume and Powertrain Ratio (BEV/PHEV/HEV)
In February, electric vehicle (xEV) sales in the 12 major countries and 3 Nordic countries (15 countries total) reached 1.207 million units. This represents a 17.3% decrease year-on-year and a 10.9% decrease month-on-month. The share of electric vehicles was 29.6%, a decrease of 0.8 percentage points from 30.4% in the previous month. Cumulative electric vehicle sales from January to February decreased by 13.4% year-on-year to 2.562 million units, with a share of 30.0% of total automobile sales.
By powertrain, February BEV sales were 548,000 units (13.4% share), PHEVs were 268,000 units (6.6% share), and HEVs were 391,000 units (9.6% share). Cumulative figures for January-February were 1.165 million units (13.7% share) for BEVs, 612,000 units (7.2% share) for PHEVs, and 785,000 units (9.2% share) for HEVs.

■ Major Manufacturer Electric Vehicle (xEV) Sales Trends
The trends in electric vehicle sales by manufacturer (major manufacturers, Tesla, major Chinese EV manufacturers) are as follows.

In February, due to continued sluggish sales in the Chinese market, Chinese manufacturers in particular saw significant decreases.
