This race saw a close finish where small differences determined the outcome, once again highlighting the importance of reproducibility in consistently delivering results.

Race Overview The opening round of SUPER GT 2026 was held from April 11-12, 2026, at Okayama International Circuit in Mimasaka City, Okayama Prefecture. The circuit's characteristic low-speed corners made overtaking difficult, and qualifying position and stable driving significantly influenced the race results.

"HYPER WATER Racing INGING" competed in the GT300 class with car number 2, a GR86 GT, continuing from last year. Drivers Yuhi Sekiguchi and rookie Kazuhisa Urabe took on the challenge.

In the official practice on Saturday, April 11, they marked the best time in the GT300 class. In the official qualifying held that afternoon, both drivers recorded good times, finishing qualifying in 2nd place.

As a result, they started the final race on Sunday, April 12, from a front grid position. They finished in a strong 2nd place, 7.325 seconds behind the leader and one lap ahead of 3rd place.

Second Round at Fuji Speedway in May The second round is scheduled for May 3-4 at Fuji Speedway (Shizuoka).
